Bottling it or venting it with catharis, it makes no difference when it comes to certain people. There are those who do well with keeping such things tightly restrained regardless of circumstance (venting or not), and those who cannot deal with it in any constructive manner.

It’s the person, not the emotion, not the anger. When I hold my anger in, I deliberately store it for later—it is there for a purpose, not because I am trying to bottle it up and do away with it. I consider it ‘good’ that it is there lurking beneath the surface, because when the time comes I let it loose, I use it. Basically, it becomes useful, when before it was nothing but a burden.

Anger can be twisted into many things. Unfortunately because it is very overwhelming, it’s easy to let it be the master, as you said.

It has its uses, both positive and negative.
